Our Budget Standing Committee addresses high-level strategic budget and policy decisions on behalf of City Council. The committee provides financial guidance and oversight to improve upon the City's budget process and financial planning.
2024 to 2026 Multi-Year Budgets
The City's 2024 to 2026 Multi-Year Operating, Capital and Water / Wastewater Budgets were deemed adopted on February 2, 2024. The adoption of the budgets is historic, marking the first time multi-year budgets were adopted for the City.

A recap of key dates regarding the adoption of the budgets is noted below
- November 22, 2023 - Council (Budget) Meeting. Staff presented the proposed 2024 to 2026 Multi-Year Operating, Capital and Water / Wastewater Budgets.
- November 28, 2023 - Public engagement initiatives regarding the budgets began.
- January 3, 2024 - The agenda was published for the January 10, 2024 Council (Budget) Meeting. The publishing of the agenda started the 30-day window in which Council may pass resolutions to amend the budgets.
- January 10, 2024 - Council (Budget) Meeting. Mayor Siscoe presented his 2024 to 2026 Multi-Year Operating, Capital and Water / Wastewater Budgets to Council.
- January 22, 2024 - Council (Budget) Meeting. Councillors voted on amendments, submitted by councillors, to the budgets.
- February 1, 2024 - End of the 30-day period in which councillors could submit amendments to the budget. No further amendments were submitted outside of those previously considered at the meeting of January 22, 2024.
- February 2, 2024 - Mayor Siscoe issued a Mayoral Decision stating that he will not veto any amendments approved by Council and that he is shortening his veto period to zero days. With the Mayor's decision not to veto any amendments, the budget was deemed adopted on February 2, 2024.
