The City of St. Catharines issued final residential and commercial property tax bills on June 7, 2024 with final payments due by June 28 and Sept. 27, 2024, by 4:30 p.m. Property owners are urged to meet these deadlines to avoid penalties.
Payments received after 4:30 p.m. on the due date will incur a 1.25 per cent late payment charge on the first day of default and on the first day of each calendar month until the payment is made in full.

Flags at City Hall are at half-mast in memory of former City of St. Catharines Mayor Alan Unwin.
Alan retired after his term as Mayor in 1997. Before becoming Mayor, Alan served three consecutive terms as a City of St. Catharines Councillor in the Port Dalhousie ward.
Alan's municipal political career followed a 30-plus-year career as an educator and school principal.

Applications are now being accepted by the City of St. Catharines for food truck and mobile vending cart operators to set up shop at City parks and facilities for the season.
Interested businesses can fill out an application anytime between March 1 and March 29. The application is available at stcatharines.ca/VendorPermit.
The policy was launched in 2022 in response to resident and business requests, which allows businesses to apply for a dedicated space each year.

Property taxpayers have received their initial tax bills for 2024 and the first payment for the year is due on Feb. 29.
