As the City continues its efforts towards greater inclusivity, it is looking to residents for their input on its next Accessibility Plan.
Specifically, the City is inviting residents to weigh in via an online survey that will help guide the development of the 2021-2025 Accessibility Plan, the document that will act as roadmap for continuing accessibility efforts.

A Sunday night fire resulted in one individual being transported to hospital and an estimated $500,000 in damages, underscoring the importance of home fire safety.
St. Catharines Fire Services were called to 5 Wembly Drive at 9:36 p.m. on Sunday night, responding with five trucks to the low-rise, three-storey condominium. It appears the fire originated in a unit on the third floor of the building and quickly spread to the attic area.

With a little help from Enbridge Gas, St. Catharines Fire Services is acting to ensure vulnerable citizens are protected in the event of a fire or from carbon monoxide.

The City of St. Catharines is reintroducing its Digital Service Squad to help main street small businesses enhance their digital presence thanks to a $72,659 grant from Digital Main Street. Funding for the grant was provided by FedDev Ontario, a federal program.

St. Catharines offers tax relief to non-residential property owners

The City of St. Catharines is rolling out tax relief to non-residential property owners to provide support from the COVID-19 pandemic.
This new program is open to owners of occupied commercial, shopping centre, parking lot or office property who can demonstrate financial hardship related to COVID-19. If the application is approved, property tax payments can be deferred from July 31 and Oct. 30 to Nov. 30, 2020.
