Museum set to celebrate Black History Month

The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre is celebrating Black History Month in February with special tours of its award-winning Follow the North Star exhibit.

Museum visitors are invited to learn more about local Black History at the St. Catharines Museum with 60-minute guided tours every Thursday (Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27) and Saturdays (Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29) this month. Tours take place at 10 a.m.

Nominations for volunteer, good neighbour awards open Jan. 21

The City of St. Catharines is looking for its own group of super heroes, and not the kind who don capes.

Nominations open Wednesday, Jan. 21, for the City’s annual Volunteer and MyHoodSTC Awards. The awards, returning this year with the theme ‘Not all Super Heroes Wear Capes,’ recognizes volunteers and good neighbours from across the city with an evening of recognition and entertainment.
