St. Catharines residents can plan their long weekend with the City’s guide to what's open and closed on the Civic Holiday, 2020.
On August 3, many facilities will remain open so individuals and families can make the most of their weekends. Plan ahead and enjoy with the following activities:
Port Dalhousie and Lincoln Park outdoor pools and all City splash pads will be open for the Civic Holiday on Monday, with free admission. Please note, due to COVID-19, there are capacity limits and pools will be closed regularly for cleaning. Regular admission and supervision standards are in effect. St. Catharines Sunset, Lakeside Park and Jones Beaches are open for Niagara residents only. Identification and bags are being checked. Beach capacity is limited, as is the number of parking spots available. Vehicles will be fined or towed for parking where prohibited. Please note that barbecues, smoking and alcohol are not allowed on St. Catharines beaches. Visit www.stcatharines.ca/beaches to find out more.
The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre will be open all weekend, as well as Civic Holiday Monday. Golfers can swing on by the Garden City Golf Course this holiday weekend, but they must book first. The City-run golf course will be open from 7 a.m. to dusk all weekend, including Monday. However, enhanced health and safety processes are in place, so visit www.stcatharines.ca/golf for more information and to book a tee time.
Port Weller Community Centre is now open seven days per week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., including the Civic Holiday Monday, with scheduled times for open gym, pickle ball and youth basketball. Playgrounds are now open. However, before heading out with young ones in tow, parents should note that equipment isn’t sanitized. Visitors should wash hands before and after playing on the equipment; be sure to practice physical distancing; and stay home if anyone in their household is feeling sick. The following City facilities will be closed on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020 for Civic Holiday:

St. Catharines Transit will be operating on a holiday service schedule on Monday, Aug. 3 for the Civic Holiday. Transit returns to its regular schedule on Tuesday, Aug. 4. St. Catharines Transit’s administration office will also be closed Monday, Aug. 3.
