The City of St. Catharines will be hosting the 2025 Spring Tree Giveaway on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
LOCATION: The spring event will take place at Lancaster Park located at 31 Wood St. from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Online pre-order and curbside pickup only. Please refer to the timeslots below for each tree species pickup time.
Registration will open to St. Catharines' residents on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 8 a.m. and will close Friday, April 25, 2025, at 4 p.m. or when quantities sell out.
Please note there is a limit of one tree per household. Households trying to obtain more than one tree may have all of their orders cancelled. Click here to register for your free tree.
The number of trees is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close as stock is reserved.
Trees are available to St. Catharines residents only. Proof of residency such as a driver’s licence or recent utility bill may be required at pickup.
Residents interested in picking up a free tree must reserve a tree in advance online and present a copy of their QR code at time of pickup (digital or paper). QR codes will be emailed to the email address you provide on the online request form. If you wish to pick up trees for someone who has pre-registered online, you must also present their QR code (digital or print) at time of pickup.
The tree species available at the 2025 Spring Tree Giveaway include:
- Sugar maple / Acer saccharum
- Eastern white cedar / Thuja occidentalis
- Pagoda dogwood / Cornus alternifolia
- Highbush cranberry / Viburnum trilobum
Pick-up times for each tree species are:
- Sugar maple: 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
- Eastern white cedar: 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- Pagoda dogwood: 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
- Highbush cranberry: 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
