The City of St. Catharines is undertaking road reconstruction and underground infrastructure improvements on Lake Street, from Welland Avenue to Ontario Street, with the project expected to start in early April 2023 for a duration of about six months.
The work will include the replacement of existing watermains with new PVC watermains (including replacement of any substandard water services within the road allowance to the property line, replacement of the existing sanitary sewer, installation of new storm sewer sections to collect storm water, replacement and/or repair of existing sidewalk curbs (as necessary), reconstruction of the road structure (as necessary) and replacement of the top-course asphalt, restoration of boulevards and driveways that may be disturbed during construction, improvements to the existing roadway lighting, and construction of a parkette at the southeast corner of the intersection of Lake and James streets.
