Working during the pandemic

Employees are reminded that they are to stay home when they have symptoms of COVID-19 , even if they have not tested positive for COVID-19. Employees must also notify Human Resources if they have COVID-19 symptoms, have tested positive and/or have been advised to isolate.
To notify HR, simply complete the screening questions here: www.stcatharines.ca/screening. HR will be notified when employees fail the screening and will follow up to determine if and when it is safe for a worker to report to work.
In addition to staying home when you are sick, employees must wear a mask while at work for 10 days from:
- the first day/beginning of COVID-19 symptoms
- testing positive for COVID-19
- exposure to COVID-19 either by someone in their home or a close contact
To help reduce the chances of workplace spread employees should:
- Keep vaccinations up to date, including eligible COVID-19 boosters
- Practice physical distancing and remote working, where possible
- Wear City-provided masks when at work
- Wash and /or sanitize hands often, and
- Wear masks at work or work from home when exposed to COVID-19.
