Where are street banners allowed?
The City of St. Catharines has five locations where roadside poles allow for the display of street banners. The locations include:
- Ontario Street at Adams Street
- Geneva Street at Balfour Street
- Merritt Street at Walnut Lane
- Lake Street at Louisa Street
Who can install banners?
Street banners can only be installed by charitable organizations or to promote community activities. Street banners are not permitted to use as advertising for religious or commercial purposes.
How to apply for a street banner permit?
If you are eligible to install a street banner, you must apply for a street banner permit. Submit the form by sending us an email.
Street banners must be made in accordance with the City ‘s specifications.
Please note, you must provide a minimum of $5 million liability insurance with The Corporation of The City of St. Catharines named as the additional insured. In some cases, the Region of Niagara must also be named on the insurance certificate.
