The City of St. Catharines, in conjunction with the City of Thorold, has completed Phase one of the reconstruction of St. David's Road and Townline Road West between Collier Road and Burleigh Hill Drive and Merritt Street and Ormond Street North. The contract was completed by O'Hara Trucking and Excavating Inc. and their Sub-contractors on July 16, 2024. This first phase of construction from Collier Road and Burleigh Hill Drive to St. David Street West project is currently going through a maintenance period. Phase two of the project from St. David Street West to Merritt Street and Ormond Street North is currently in detailed design.
The work includes replacement of the existing watermain along with services to the property line (Thorold and St. Catharines mains), new road base, curbs and top course asphalt, new sidewalks along with a multi-use trail on the south side of the roadway, street lighting and utility relocations as required.
