The Citizen Task Force to Review Council Remuneration for Council Boards, Agencies and Commissions will review remuneration currently paid to the Mayor and Council Members along with associated Boards, Agencies and Commissions the Mayor and Council Members may be appointed to.
The Committee meets monthly, or at the discretion of the Chair.
The Task Force will review existing policies and practices (including Report FMS-070- 2022), undertake research to compare similar sized municipalities and local area municipalities and produce recommendations for City Council based on all aspects of compensation deemed relevant.
The Task Force shall be comprised of up to five members.
Ideally members should represent sectors such as: a former member of Council who was elected to Council after 2014 and did not seek re-election, organized labour, education community, business community, non-profit sector. Preference will be given to members who have experience in human resources, finance, compensation methodology or similar fields.
The Citizen Task Force to Review Remuneration for Council, Boards, Agencies and Commissions reports to Council through the City Clerk who will present a covering report of the recommendations from the Task Force. Administrative support to the Committee shall be provided by Legal and Clerk’s Services. Additional staff resources as required from time to time will be provided by the applicable departments.
The Task Force will disband upon acceptance of the final recommendations to Council.
