| January 28: Nomination and registration period opens |
| Nomination and registration period begins for candidates.
First day an individual, union or corporation can file notice of registration as a third-party advertiser. Third party advertisers have until Friday, April 11, 2025, to register. The campaign period begins on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, or whenever a candidate files a nomination paper, whichever is later. The campaign period officially ends on Friday, February 28, 2025, unless the candidate withdraws their nomination in writing with the Clerk. |
| February 28: Nominations close at 2 p.m. |
| Last day for a candidate to file nomination papers or withdraw their nomination. Nominations or withdrawal cannot be accepted after 2 p.m. |
| March 3, 2025: Nominations certified, proxy voter applications open |

The Clerk will examine and certify all nominations by 4 p.m. and declare the candidate elected by acclamation. This date is subject to additional nominations being required. Voters being appointed as proxies can apply for their proxy voting certificate after 4 p.m. |
| March 5, 2025: Additional nominations open, if required |
| If the number of nominations filed for an office and certified is less than the number of persons to be elected to the office, additional nominations can be filed at the Office of the City Clerk on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
A candidate who wishes to withdraw their additional nomination must notify the Clerk in writing before 2 p.m. |
| March 6, 2025: Certification of additional nominations |
| The Clerk will examine and certify any additional nominations by 4 p.m. and declare the candidate(s) elected by acclamation. |
| March 6, 2025: Voters' list available |
| The voters’ list will be made available to certified candidates.
Individuals may make an application to make revisions to the voters’ list until election day. |
| March 6, 2025: Certificates of maximum campaign spending |
| The Clerk will provide the certificate of maximum campaign spending limits to all certified candidates and third-party advertisers. |
| April 14, 2025: Voting Day |
| Polling locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. |
| April 15, 2025: Declaration of election results |
| The Clerk will declare official election results and post them to the City’s website. |
| April 28, 2025: New Councillor Sworn In |
| New Councillor will be sworn in prior to the start of the scheduled Council meeting. First Council meeting of the new Councillor. |
| May 29, 2025: End of campaign period |

End of the election campaign period. Last day for candidates and registered third parties to provide written notice, in the prescribed form, of a deficit and the continuation of their campaign period. |
| June 30, 2025: Deadline to file Initial Statements at 2 p.m. |
| The deadline for candidates and third-party advertisers to file initial financial statements. |
