PROJECT NAME: Riverview Storm Sewer Repair – Phase II
PROJECT NO.: P22-016
Please be advised that work on the repairs of an existing storm sewer between Riverview Boulevard and the Twelve Mile Creek is expected to begin the week of September 16th, 2024. The general site location is shown on the map below. Phase I of this work, which was from Riverview Boulevard to approximately 60m northwest (or to the top of the valley slope), was completed previously in 2022.
Construction is expected to take approximately six to eight weeks to complete including final restorations. Please note that this schedule and completion of construction is dependent on weather conditions and could possibly change in case of inclement weather. Completion of construction could also possibly be impacted by any unforeseen difficulties encountered during construction. In addition, some weather sensitive components of the works may need to be completed in Spring 2025.
This construction project includes re-lining of an existing storm sewer, repair and restoration of eroded areas on the valley slope around the existing storm sewer, and restoration of an existing sewer maintenance hole on Riverview Boulevard. An existing parking lot off Lockhart Drive will be used as the construction staging and material/equipment storage area. Existing trails between the parking lot and the storm sewer location will be used for access and transport of equipment and materials. All trails on the east side of the Twelve Mile Creek between Lockhart Drive and Glendale Avenue will need to be closed during construction activities for safety reasons.
Access to properties on Riverview Boulevard, in the project area, will not be affected. Garbage collection and water or sewer services are also not expected to be affected due to this project. However, some components of the work will need access to the site off Riverview Boulevard through an existing storm sewer easement. In addition, restoration of an existing sewer maintenance hole will also need some work on Riverview Boulevard. Traffic control in the form of lane restrictions on Riverview Boulevard will need to be implemented for the duration when any equipment is present on Riverview Boulevard to complete necessary works.
We look forward to the City’s Contractor completing this project in a professional and timely manner.
