Arts and culture will once again be in the spotlight for three weeks this fall as the City of St. Catharines gets set to celebrate Culture Days. A diverse range of live and virtual performances, events and workshops are planned from Sept. 20 to Oct. 13, 2024. The festival is held annually across Canada and is for those of all ages.
In 2024, St. Catharines is once again being featured as a provincial Festival Hub. Festival Hubs serve as local community leads for Culture Days, helping visitors find events and learn more about the festival. Hubs represent a selection of the diverse communities within Ontario and present a high volume of quality programming for all ages during Culture Days.
“This year, we are very proud to be collaborating with Rodman Art Institute of Niagara (RAiN), St. Catharines Public Library, FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, as well as The Brown Homestead, and numerous local artists,” said Culture Supervisor Jessica Wilson.
This year’s events include:
All events are free, but some require pre-registration. You can find the full list of events at stcatharines.ca/CultureDays.
An official flag raising for Culture Days will take place on the front lawn of City Hall on Friday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m., followed by the opening of the City’s 15th annual juried art exhibit inside City Hall.
