Registration for summer recreation programs kicks off tomorrow and once again St. Catharines residents will have a two-day head start to register.
Residents will be able to register online starting June 13 at 6 p.m. followed by in-person registration at St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatic Centre (SKAC) starting the next day, June 14 at 8:30 a.m.
Registration will be open for everyone online beginning June 15 at 6 p.m. and in person at SKAC the following day – June 16 at 8:30 a.m.
Swimming lessons will run Monday to Friday throughout the summer with once-a-week lessons available evenings and weekends, and there are plenty of new programs on the docket joining this favourite for the season.
Kids aged three to six years are invited to join Miss. Kathy for Primary Picasso, an exciting art class for kids that focuses on the works of Pablo Picasso and other renowned artists.
Children and youth can sign up to code their own video games or to learn a new sport like golf, skateboarding, tennis, or how to ride a bike this summer.
Adults are invited to register for exciting new Bellyfit workout classes that combine functional fitness, dance, cardio, yoga and core strength. For players that can maintain a rally, bring a racquet along and learn how to play tennis on a full-sized court.
Those looking for a way to relieve stress and anxiety can join a Zentangle art class, a proven meditative method that promotes mindfulness and fosters self-esteem, improved focus, increased relaxation, and creativity. Classes are available for both adults aged 50+ and youths aged 11 to 14 years old.
