Mayor Mat Siscoe is thrilled to announce the launch of a new initiative aimed at keeping the residents of St. Catharines and the Greater Niagara Region active and engaged: the moveSTC activity challenge.
Starting this fall, moveSTC will feature a series of monthly challenges designed to inspire residents to get moving. Each month, participants will have the opportunity to complete one of three challenges recommended by the Mayor, varying in difficulty to accommodate different fitness levels, accessibility needs, and busy schedules. These challenges are entirely optional and are meant to offer inspiration—what truly matters is that residents are staying active and engaging with the community in their own way.
In addition to the personal satisfaction of staying active, participants will also have the chance to win exciting monthly prizes, including gift cards, membership passes, and event tickets. To join the challenge, residents can visit www.stcatharines.ca/moveSTC to fill out a tracker sheet, where they can input their contact information, favourite activity, and the number of days they exercised during the month. Winners will be randomly selected on the first working day of each month.
To further engage with the community, participants are encouraged to share their journey on social media using the hashtag #moveSTC. Sharing progress is a great way to motivate others and celebrate each step taken toward a healthier lifestyle.
