The pools at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre will have some modified operating hours over the next several days, starting Monday, Nov. 4, for a lighting renewal project.
To minimize disruption and avoid a full closure, work to replace the lighting in the pool area will be taking place overnight. To accommodate the work, however, there will be some slight impacts to programming, with the pools opening later, and closing earlier, most days during the replacement program.
The tentative operating schedule through the work period is:
While some programs and rentals will be affected by these modified operating hours, the majority of daytime and afternoon programming and lessons will continue to run. Any updates or changes will be posted to our website at www.stcatharines.ca/aquatics and on the City’s social media channels.
Project funding for the lighting replacement is a partnership between the City and Infrastructure Canada’s Canada Community Building Fund (CCBF), which supports local communities to make strategic investments in essential infrastructure. The $300,000 project was funded through a $159,000 CCBF funding allocation, and City capital funding of $141,000.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important work.
