Residents of St. Catharines and the surrounding area will soon be able to register for their favourite activities as the City opens registration for this year’s fall recreational programs.
Registration opens online on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. on ActiveSTC for residents, or they can register in person at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Everyone can sign up for activities on ActiveSTC on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. and walk-in will be open to all on Friday, Sept. 1 at 8:30 a.m. at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre.
There will be a wide variety of active fitness programming provided by qualified instructors for a range of ages including Kids and Youth Yoga, Intro to Mat Pilates, Total Resistance Exercises (TRX) Fitness, Kick Fit Kickboxing Fitness, Balance and Core Fitness, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Fitness, Stronger for Longer, Strength and Tone, Youth Sports Training, Older Adult Fit, Essentrics, and multiple resistance training classes.
There will also be a variety of drop-in programs available, including badminton, table tennis, tai chi, line dancing and much more.
Registration opens on Sept. 18 for the Community Walk series taking place at the Victoria Lawn Cemetery. These guided tours are different from the Spirit Walks being held in September, and the stories featured will vary for each tour. Highlights include Monuments on Oct. 1, Money Makers on Oct. 15, and Military on Oct. 30.

At the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre, fall programming includes swimming lessons for all ages, leisure swims, lengths, a variety of aquatic fitness classes in both the leisure and lane pools including aqua cycle classes. For more information, please visit stcatharines.ca/Swimming.
New programming is on at Canada Games Park (2021 Canada Games Way) every Wednesday including Steps and Strength, Yoga for Strength, Cardio Fitness, and Pickleball. Canada Games Park has free parking, a bottle-filling station, change rooms, and an indoor walking track for a comfortable workout.
