City Hall
September 30 is a day to reflect and honour survivors, their families and the communities affected by the legacy of residential school policies. Join the City in recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at a gathering on the front steps of City Hall held in collaboration with the Niagara Regional Native Centre (NRNC) at 10 a.m. on Sept. 29.
St. Catharines Farmers Market
The Market will be open with lots of vendors to visit from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sept. 30. Stop by and see Revolver and Friends as they hit the stage for a performance. Don’t miss the community table where Niagara Region Waste Management and ARID Recovery Homes will be handing out info. The Sept. 30 Market Discovery Table is called ‘Any way the cow goes.’
On Thursday, Oct. 5, the St. Catharines Farmers Market will be hosting the Harvest Pie Festival. It will be taking place from noon until 3 p.m. There will be 10 different sweet and savoury pie vendors, a face painter, an opportunity to build your centrepiece for the holiday, a fall-themed selfie booth, and a balloon artist. The O’Deadlys will be performing live on the Market Stage.
The Market will also be open for shopping from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Oct. 7. Chris Scott will provide the soundtrack for the day and ARID Recovery Homes will be handing out info for the Community Engagement Series from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Oct. 7 Market Discovery Table is called “He’s just a ‘Fungi’.
Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm
Take an opportunity to see the animals before the off-season with a visit to Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm, open regular hours both weekends at 650 Read Road.
Morningstar Mill
Tour the picturesque Morningstar Mill heritage site at Decew Falls during regular hours from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sept. 30 and Oct. 7. Visit stcatharines.ca/MorningstarMill for more information.
Garden City Golf Course
Swing on by the Garden City Golf Course. The City-run greens will be open regular hours all weekend weather permitting. Visit stcatharines.ca/Golf for more information or to book a tee time.
Recreation Centres
Port Weller and Russell Avenue Community Centres are open for regular hours on September 30 and October 2. Both buildings are closed on October 9. Fall session registered programs are cancelled on October 2 and October 9 please review your receipt.
Harriett Tubman Public School programs such as badminton and fitness classes are running as usual on October 2 but cancelled October 9.
City arenas, outdoor sports fields, St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre, St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre, and Older Adult Centres are open regular hours both weekends.
Lakeside Park Carousel
The Lakeside Park Carousel is open for regular hours on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. It is closed on Oct. 2.
The Carousel will also be open for regular hours from Oct. 7 to 9, after which it will close for the season.
