Please be advised that a contract for this project has been awarded. The successful contractor, CRL Campbell Construction & Drainage Ltd. is tentatively scheduled to start work during the week of Feb. 27, 2023, weather permitting. Construction is expected to take approximately seven weeks to complete including final restorations. Please note that this schedule and completion of construction is dependent on weather and could possibly change in case of inclement weather.
The proposed construction project includes re-grading of the existing watercourse in Clifford Creek Park to improve its water carrying capacity and to make the watercourse less pervious in order to reduce seepage of water into the ground. The section of the existing gravel path along the watercourse will also be improved.
Access to properties, through city roads and sidewalks, in vicinity to the project area will not be affected. Access to the granular path in the park, beginning at Oakdale Avenue and continuing on the west side of the park along the existing watercourse will be affected within the construction site limits. Access to the existing playground area in the park will remain available off Oakdale Avenue. A construction inspector from AECOM Canada Ltd. will be present on the site during construction and can be contacted for information.
In order for construction equipment/traffic to enter or exit the construction area safely at Oakdale Avenue, temporary traffic controls on Oakdale Avenue may be required as necessary. Such temporary traffic controls will be minimized as much as possible. Emergency Services will always have access through the area at any time. Please contact us if you have any specific accessibility requirements or concerns. Although the contractor is required to provide safe pedestrian access on existing sidewalks, care should be exercised when walking on the sidewalk on Oakdale Avenue in close vicinity to the construction entry/exit zone.
On street parking (where allowed), garbage collection and water or sewer services are not expected to be affected due to this project. Construction for this project will be on the park property and construction is not expected to disturb any private property. As a result, no work on private property is expected during this project unless any restorative work becomes necessary due to any unforeseen circumstances.
If any residents have any private installations (such as irrigation/sprinkler systems) extended beyond their property into the park property, then they should inform the project team in advance of construction to avoid any inadvertent damages.
Prior to construction commencing, during the week of week of Feb. 13 representatives from OZA Inspections Ltd. will be contacting you to arrange for an inspection of the interior and exterior of your building. Please note that only properties deemed very close to the proposed construction will be contacted for inspections. The purpose of this inspection is to determine and document the extent of any cracking or other damages that exists prior to the commencement of construction. This information can then be used to determine the extent of the Contractor's responsibility in the unlikely event that damages to your building occur during construction. The representatives of OZA Inspections Ltd. will have identifications with them.
We look forward to working with you and having the City’s Contractor complete this project in a professional and timely manner. If you have any questions, or require further information, please contact the Construction Inspector on site during construction or one of the other Project Team members identified below:
