Applications open for final round of St. Catharines Cultural Investment Program funding

Applications are now open for the final round of St. Catharines Cultural Investment Program (SCCIP) funding for 2024.

The deadline for Arts Development, Culture Builds Community, and Sustaining Festival Programs applications is Sept. 19 (for projects starting Jan. 2025 or later).

SCCIP offers six program streams tailored to specific priorities, eligibility criteria, and evaluation standards.

In June, City Council approved $307,000 in funding for Sustaining – Core and Midsized Programs and the Arts Development, Culture Builds Community and Culture Days Activity Programs. The list of groups and individuals who received funding were:

St. Catharines Poetry Slam – Monthly Poetry Slam Event Series
Studio Accelerando – Journey to the Centre of the Earth
Essential Collective Theatre (ECT) – Scenes of the Welland Canal
Luis Martin Flores - 4th Annual Day of the Dead and Art Festival
Skye Rogers – Homeward Bound
SOFIFRAN - 2025 Festiv’Ebene Festival and Book Fair
Tomorrow's Voices Foundation - Choir Program
Eve Atoms - The Breath Balm Campaign
Carousel Players – Puppet Extravaganza
Luis Martin Flores – Day of the Dead Mexican Arts and Crafts Workshop
Rajshree Jena – Muguloo Workshop
Jenn Judson – Collage-a-thon!

The remaining $93,000 in the SCCIP budget for this year will support Arts Development, Culture Builds Community, and Sustaining Festival Programs.

Applications will be reviewed by members of the St. Catharines’ Arts and Culture Advisory Committee, who will then make funding recommendations to City Council.
