The City of St. Catharines is proud to announce the winners of its 40th annual 2024 Trillium Awards.
The City’s annual Trillium Awards recognize property owners who create gorgeous front yard gardens and landscapes to help beautify our community. This year, a total of 15 awards were presented to St. Catharines’ residents and one organization, including Civic Beautification Awards, two per ward; a Community Choice Award selected through an online vote; and a Green Leader Award recognizing an individual or community organization for making a significant contribution to greening the community and inspiring others.
“Congratulations to the recipients of this year’s Trillium Awards for their incredible beautification efforts here in St. Catharines,” said St. Catharines Mayor Mat Siscoe. “The contributions of these enthusiastic gardeners makes our neighbourhoods more vibrant and contributes to our community. Their efforts mean we all get to enjoy the many beautiful and vibrant neighbourhoods across our city.”
The 2024 Mayor’s Award was presented to the property at 13 Foxglove Ave.
The Mayor’s Award goes to the best front yard garden out of all the nominations received by the City.
The Green Leader Award recipient is the St. Catharines Downtown Association’s Streetscape and Sustainability Committee members, for their leadership on projects to transition planting beds along St. Paul Street to sustainable, pollinator-friendly perennial plant materials, and a mass tree planting project on City property near the downtown trailhead for the Twelve Mile Creek trail system.
The Community Choice Award recognized the property at 315 Pelham Rd.
