Back to SearchThe City of St. Catharines Planning and Building Services Department is hosting an Online Open House to provide information and receive public input regarding City initiated Official Plan Amendment. The Amendment proposes to address recent Provincial changes to the Planning Act, including updates to Site Plan Control and permission for additional residential units (accessory dwelling units).
The City is seeking comments on this application before staff recommendation is finalized and a decision is made by Council at a later date.
Open House Details
Date: Thursday, May 11
Time: 6 p.m.
Location: To be held electronically via Zoom and broadcast on YouTube
Residents can participate in three different ways:
- By mailing your comments/questions or by e-mailing to Taya Devlin (tdevlin@stcatharines.ca) no later than Wednesday, May 10. All written submissions will become part of the public record for this application.
- By registering to participate electronically via Zoom by no later than Monday, May 8.
- By registering to participate by telephone by no later than Monday, May 8. Please call 905.688.5601, Ext. 1709 and leave a message with Taya Devlin including your name and phone number. Staff will respond to your voicemail prior to the Online Open House to provide you with the call-in number for the event and additional information about the process.
Electronic Participation
Those wishing to participate electronically via Zoom video-conferencing technology must register by completing our online form before the date specified above. Only one individual will be permitted to speak at a time and group delegations are not permitted.
Participants are not permitted to share visuals or materials during the open house. However, materials may be submitted in advance for the Planner to share during the open house and must be received no later than Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
Test Session
The mandatory test session will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 10 a.m.
