In partnership with SGL Planning and Design Inc. and ASI Heritage, the City of St. Catharines is developing a master plan for Fairview Park to help guide decision-making about park improvements and investment.
In the Fall of 2023, two concept park layout alternatives were presented to the public through both online and in-person consultation. Based on feedback received, the City’s consultants have compiled a more detailed draft master plan for the park. The draft plan reflects the public’s preference for Concept One (Community Use / Active Use Focused), and its desire to ensure the canal and rail shipping history of the site is reflected in the park’s design.
The draft plan can be viewed in-person at the Fairview Park Community Vision Public Information Centre. It will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, drop-in format - between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre (Irene Locke Room), 425 Carlton Street, St. Catharines.
More information about the project can also be found online at stcatharines.ca/PlanYourPark. The draft master plan can be viewed there as well.
