TAKE NOTICE that on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, the Council of the municipality of St. Catharines will hold a public meeting, pursuant to section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, as amended, to present and obtain public input on the municipality’s proposed amendments to the Development Charges (DC) By-law.
PURPOSE AND EFFECT – The City of St. Catharines is proposing to amend the City’s Development Charges By-law 2021-140, to remove any charges relating to Transit Services from the DC By-law due to the recent consolidation of transit services into the Niagara Transit Commission (NTC). The effect of this change means the existing transit DC rates levied by the City of St. Catharines will be replaced by the transit DC rates established by the Niagara Region effective Jan. 1, 2023.
All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Meeting of Council, either in-person or virtually, to delegate before Council relating to the proposed amendments to the D.C. by-law.

In order that sufficient information is made available to the public, the amendment report is available online at stcatharines.ca/en/planning-and-development/development-charges.aspx. Copies of the proposed amended DC by-law and the report are also being made available as of Nov. 28, 2022 from the municipal Clerk (905.688.5601 ext. 1517).

Delegate submissions should be made by 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022.
