The City of St. Catharines is embarking on a comprehensive core services review to ensure service levels, infrastructure investments, and fiscal responsibility position the city as a desirable place to live for residents and businesses alike.
“This is an opportunity to take a closer look at how we serve our community today and to ensure our approach is sustainable and responsive to future needs,” said Mayor Mat Siscoe. “This is an initiative that Council supports and aligns with the priorities in the City’s Strategic Plan.”
Led by an external consultant, the core service review will examine the full range of municipal services, focusing on:
“St. Catharines is proud of the wide array of services we provide our community,” added Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Erin O’Hoski. “This review will help us deliver these services in a way that meets service expectations while balancing community affordability.”
As part of the review, the City is inviting residents and businesses to share their feedback on priorities for City services and infrastructure through a community survey.
The survey is open through Dec. 10. Residents are asked to provide input on topics such as service quality, infrastructure priorities, and how they access and use City services.
“We want to ensure the voices of our community are heard,” said O’Hoski. “Responses we receive to the survey will help us align our efforts with the values and priorities of those who live and work in St. Catharines.”
