Young entrepreneurs in St. Catharines have an exciting opportunity to turn their business ideas into reality this summer through the Summer Company program.
The program, delivered by St. Catharines Enterprise Centre, provides students aged 15 to 29 with mentorship, training, and financial support to launch and run their own businesses.
Applications are open and must be submitted by April 10, 2025.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in running a business while receiving guidance from experienced mentors,” said Rob Belchior, a Small Business Consultant with St. Catharines Enterprise Centre. “The Summer Company program helps young entrepreneurs develop skills in sales, marketing, customer service, and financial management—skills that will benefit them for years to come.”
Participants in the program receive up to $3,000 in funding, along with access to business training and mentorship throughout the summer. The program is open to Ontario students who meet the following criteria:
To apply, students must submit an online application and, if selected, complete a business plan and cash flow forecast. Successful applicants must be ready to start their businesses by June 2025.
“The Summer Company program not only helps young entrepreneurs build confidence and independence, but it also contributes to our local economy by fostering new businesses in St. Catharines,” said Belchior. “We encourage all interested students to apply and take advantage of this incredible opportunity.”
