Residents are encouraged to nominate creative and eye-catching front yard gardens for the 2021 City of St. Catharines Trillium Awards.
The annual Trillium Awards are intended to recognize and honour those who support civic beautification efforts along with celebrating environmentally friendly properties. Residents can nominate their front yard property or other properties that have caught their eye for one of three categories. Nominations are open until June 28 on EngageSTC.ca/TrilliumAwards. Entry is free.
“We are proud to recognize our residents’ hard work in cultivating beautiful spaces and contributing to the environment as a whole,” said Eric Lamothe, manager of business planning and strategic services. “With the province’s current restrictions, the Trillium Awards are a great way to participate in a community-driven program.”
All properties in St. Catharines, including residential and commercial properties, are eligible to participate in this year’s awards. Nominators can choose one of three categories including Civic Beautification (two awards per ward), Green Leader (one winner) and Community’s Choice (one winner). The Mayor’s Award will be given to the best overall property from all submissions. Nominations will be evaluated and judged in July with winners announced in August.
Community members looking for more information, or wishing to nominate a property, can visit stcatharines.ca/TrilliumAwards.
