The City of St. Catharines has initiated a Zoning By-law Amendment which proposes to exempt affordable residential units from the City’s parking requirements. A residential dwelling unit will be considered affordable in accordance with the definition established in the Development Charges Act, 1997.
Amendment materials and an informational video are available for review and comment below or in person at the Planning and Building Services Department at City Hall, 50 Church St., St. Catharines.
Given the subject amendment regulates the use of lands throughout the geographic boundaries of the City of St. Catharines, a key map has not been provided with this notice.
City Council is hosting a Legislated Public Meeting on Dec. 9, 2024, to receive input and comment on the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, after which Council will consider staff’s recommendation on the amendment and make a decision on the matter.
