Scarth Road Reconstruction
The City of St. Catharines is undertaking road reconstruction and underground infrastructure improvements on Scarth Road from South Drive to Highland Avenue. The project began in Sept. 2023 and is expected to last for approximately two and one half months, with the final restoration being completed in the spring of 2024.
The work will include the road reconstruction, watermain replacement, storm sewer/drainage improvements and a sidewalk replacement. The street will be closed to traffic starting on Sept. 25, 2023 and will remain closed for the duration of construction.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to abutting properties and to minimize inconvenience to businesses, residents, and pedestrians. A construction inspector from the City will be present on-site during construction and can be contacted for information.
The contract for the project has been awarded to Provincial Construction (Niagara Falls) Ltd. Please see the construction notice for more details on the project, including information on emergency services, to see a map of the general project area and more.
